Well everyone the day has come an gone. Evie is now here at home and doing great! Mommy is doing fine and I am completely overcome with joy. I could have never imagined how it would feel when she came into this world. She was beautiful from the start. The picture posted with this blog is Evie playing with her lamb. She is sleeping, eating, and growing! Well I guess this is going to bring this blog to a close, but I might post every once in awhile when something important comes around (first words, walking, etc.) Thanks everyone for taking time to read the blog and post comments. Also I would like to thank everyone for the support they have given. What a Week!!!

Let me start with the last doctor's appointment. It was last Tuesday, which was the last Blue Jackets home game (we had tickets) and her blood pressure was sky high. It was so high the doctor decided to send her to the hospital for monitoring. After about 3 hours she was cleared and on her way to Columbus. Other than that everything looks good and we are due back in 2 days. Sunday was the shower and also Dad and I finished the room. I have to hand it to my dad cause the room looks great!!! I'm a little proud of myself too! We have been moving baby things in and just need to attach the mirror, hang blinds, buy the mattress, and put things away. I'll post a picture next blog. The picture you see with this blog was taken when Devan had an ultrasound on her kidneys due to kidney stones. The tech was nice enough to let Devan peek at the baby and confirm it was a girl. This is a picture of her profile. Well just a few more weeks to go! I'll post later. Family Information Wife Status: Uncomfortable and sleepless My Status: Happy with the room!!! Evie's New Room

Well it's time for an update. Devan and I went to the doctor's office this week and everything is right on track. I was excited to hear the heartbeat again. We'll go back in 4 weeks and then it's every 2 weeks for a while. Other than that we have 15 weeks to go and everything is moving fast. Another important item that is going on as we speak is Evie's bedroom. Dad and I have been working on the room for the past 2 weeks. We are currently hanging the drywall and running the electric. Breaking Baby News!!!

Today was the big day! Devan, the boys, and I found out what the baby is. The doctor started to search around and the baby was easy to find. The hard part was to get the baby to open it's legs. The doctor searched for about five minutes and nothing so she decided to do the measurements and come back to find the sex. After the measurements were taken and she took some pictures she went back to find out if the baby is a boy or girl. Well a few minutes later the doctor said....Looks like you will be having a... Did anyone get to see the Buckeyes play on Monday? It was a great game and I can't wait for next season! Oh yeah the baby. The doctor said we will be having a... Man I can't wait to see the Bengles play this weekend in the playoffs! It has been such as long time since the Bengles have reached the post season. Ok I'll really tell you this time. The picture above is of Evelyn Jo. We will be having a girl. I'm so excited and I can't wait. Everyone is doing fine and we are all can't wait to see Evelyn. The Second Confirmation: The Heartbeat

Well everyone it's safe to say we have a new Swick on the way. I'm getting emails from all over the family and I think everyone's excited! Our last appointment was on Wednesday and we were able to hear the heartbeat. The doctor turned on his device and...whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh. He was able to get the heartbeat on the first try. For those who believe a fast heartbeat is a girl and slower is a boy the heartbeat was normal so it's still up in the air. Devan looked at me and I had a smile from ear to ear. The doctor let us hear the hear for about 15 seconds and I wanted to hold his hand on there for a little longer, but I didn't. Everything is on track and the next appointment is in 4 weeks and the ultrasound is in 6. So in January we should know if we will be blessed with a healthy boy or girl. People ask Devan and I what we prefer and we both just want a healthy baby. Mommy and baby are doing fine and the boys are good too. Baby's First Picture

Well everyone we visited the doctor! Everything is in order and mom is doing fine. I was hoping to hear the heartbeat, but the doc says it a little early for that. I was a little disappointed, but instead we got an ultrasound. When the doc said that my hands went in the air. It was kind of like a referee giving a touchdown signal. Devan laughed and the doctor gave me a weird look. I asked the doctor if he could tell that I was excited. He gave a little laugh and off we went. During the ultrasound I was able to see the heart beat. The funny thing is I think my heart was beating faster than the baby's. Then I saw the baby's beats per minute were around 182 so I can say mine was beating faster (maybe around 200BPM). I added the picture to today's blog. I'm sure everyone can see the baby and point out the features, but I'll explain anyway. The heart-shaped spot is the baby's body and the head is to the left. Just to update from the last post I did purchase a book and I'm in the process of reading. Maybe in a month or so we will know the sex, but most likely it won't be next appointment. Well that's all for now! Those Wonderful Words....We're Pregnant

Well everyone I received the wonderful news on October 1, 2005. My wife Devan and I are expecting our first child together. I really can't explain how I felt when I heard the news, but for all the fathers out there you know what I mean! We told my parents that day and let's just say there were excited too. I have a video of mom, but I'm going to keep that between us. Since then nothing much has happened, but Devan does seem to get car sick everyday on the way to work. Also, I haven't had to make any 2 am trips to the store for ice cream, but I'm willing if asked. Everyday I receive an email from Devan giving me information on the baby's progress and I'm buying a book this weekend to learn more. The First doctor appointment is in a couple weeks so I'll update everyone in the next post or two.
